The Northern Sauna® Difference
Four things set every Northern Sauna apart, from the cedar it's built with to the guarantee that stands behind it.
Premium Canadian Western Red Cedar
Crafted from one of Canada's most treasured woods, with natural beauty, warmth and an unmistakable aroma. Western Red Cedar performs exceptionally well in the heat and humidity of a sauna, and its low heat conductivity keeps surfaces comfortable to the touch.
- 100% Canadian Western Red Cedar
- Naturally resistant to moisture & decay
- Rich colour & distinctive natural grain
- Superior heat retention, no insulation required
- Signature cedar aroma
Stainless Steel Heater with Wi-Fi Control
A premium stainless steel electric heater built for the demanding sauna environment. The heating elements sit inside a protective casing that keeps them out of direct contact with the rocks, helping reduce the risk of cracking and premature burnout. Start preheating from your phone, so your sauna is warm and inviting when you're ready.
- Premium stainless steel exterior
- Quality thermostat and 60-minute timer
- Convenient Wi-Fi remote preheating
- Protected heating element design
- 5-year heater & lifetime element guarantee
Premium Cedar Roofing System
The same 2" × 6" Premium Canadian Western Red Cedar boards used throughout the sauna form a solid cedar roof. Above it, a high-performance ice and weather shield creates a continuous waterproof barrier against the Canadian elements, finished with a sleek black steel roof as standard.
- Premium 2" × 6" Western Red Cedar roof
- Solid cedar construction from top to bottom
- Ice & weather shield waterproof barrier
- Black steel roof finish (standard)
- Coordinating wood-grain roof finish (optional)
No-nonsense, no fine print

Sauna questions, answered
How much does an outdoor sauna cost in Canada?
Northern Saunas range from $9,997 for the 6' Red Cedar Barrel Sauna to $19,997 for our 8' Modern models with a 2' porch. Every sauna comes as an all-inclusive package with a Wi-Fi electric heater, heat-retaining rocks and a full accessories kit. Prices are transparent and haggle-free, and low monthly payment financing is available.
Which sauna style should I choose?
Every Northern Sauna is built from the same premium cedar with the same included features, so focus on the look you love and the space you have. Barrel saunas are a striking conversation piece. Cube saunas make the best use of space, fitting more seating into a compact footprint, and pair nicely with a home or cabin. Classic and modern cabin saunas look like an extension of your home, and panoramic saunas are made for a great view. Remember, smaller saunas heat up faster.
What size sauna do I need?
Northern Saunas come in 6' and 8' sizes and seat from 2 to 8 people, depending on the model. Think about how many people will usually join you, then check the minimum base size listed for each model, starting at 5' × 5' for the 6' Barrel Sauna.
Can I use an outdoor sauna in a Canadian winter?
Yes. Northern Saunas are designed for outdoor use year-round, with 2" thick Western Red Cedar walls, a solid cedar roof, an ice and weather shield and a steel roof. With Wi-Fi preheating, your sauna can be warm before you step outside.
Should I get a sauna with a porch?
A porch gives you a place to remove shoes before you go in, which helps keep the inside cleaner, and a sheltered spot out of the rain or snow to cool down after your session. Porch models are available in Barrel, Panoramic, Cube and Modern styles.
Where should I put my sauna?
Pick a spot that will make it your backyard centrepiece. Make sure the location is flat, away from property lines and close to electricity. Wood-burning stoves need a chimney and 10 feet of clearance from surrounding buildings. Your Dealer Partner can help you plan the site.
What guarantee comes with a Northern Sauna?
Every Northern Sauna includes a Lifetime Structural Guarantee covering the steel roof and all cedar lumber, a Lifetime Heater Element Guarantee, a 5-Year Heater Guarantee, a 3-Year Wi-Fi Module Guarantee and a 3-Year Component Guarantee on windows, hinges, latches, vents and accessories. See our Premium Sauna Guarantee for full terms and conditions.
How long does it take to get a sauna?
Each Northern Sauna is built to order in Canada. Lead times vary with customization and current production volume, and may be longer for stained units. Your Dealer Partner can give you the most accurate timeline.
Is delivery and setup included?
Optional Factory VIP Delivery and Setup is available (service fees apply). It includes delivery to the home, moving the sauna onto your level base, assembly, mounting the electric Wi-Fi heater, installing a wood heater and chimney where applicable, operating instructions and a thorough clean-up.
Factory VIP Delivery and Setup rates are calculated based on the distance from our factory in Bluevale, Ontario, to your address, and it's currently available within 750 km of the factory. Outside that range, setup is coordinated by the Dealer Partner you purchase from.
